◎Diverse and Multi-Purpose Relationships

The department throughout its 43 years of existence has intensively fostered and benefited from cooperative relationshipswith textiles factories, fashion companies, related professional associations, research centers, and governmental institutions. Multiple cooperative relationships with industry and government have brought mutual benefits. We have benefited through: financial contributions to the construction of our building; scholarships for teacher training and for students; awards for outstanding achievements by students; cooperative design projects in weaving, knitting, printing and fashion design; donations in kind including teaching aids, yarn, fabric, equipment, shared use of facilities, industry’s annual acceptance of students for one-month field experience; cooperative activities with our Fashion Practice Store; sponsoring of research projects, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, substantial financial support for acquisition of our historical collection, various publications, and public exhibitions.
